This year I...(My year end review) Part 1

Well, 2018 went by in a flash! I feel like so much has happened this year.

I can remember some really tough days and some really joyous days. Both the good and the bad has helped shape me into the person I am today.
This year I've learned a lot of lessons (as we all do almost everyday). But the lessons in the year of 2018 have been ones that were part of some big life changing moments. I can’t go into  of ALL the lessons I've learned(the blog post will end up being 100 paragraphs long haha),
but these are the ones that stood out the most (?)

Growing up
I can say that a lot of lessons I’ve learned this year is apart of being more mature regarding certain circumstances. I don't want to lose topic with you guys though, this blog post is about what I've done this year, what I've accomplished, what I've learned and experiences. So, i'd love to talk about what lessons i've learned in specific but I also want to cover all the topics I mentioned above. I've been wanting to try harder and harder to keep my blogs clean, clear and concise. Let's dive into my year review.

This year I... went to my first worship concert. I have always loved worship music ever since I can remember, but in more recent years I have began to love worship music more and more. My brother Marlon has been watching a lot of worship concerts and I always say "wow, that looks awesome! We have to go to one of these." My brother agreed and we continued to hope and pray that a Contemporary Christian artist would come to CT. We heard about Tobymac coming and was interested in going to that but waited too late to act on getting tickets. So, we missed out on that one....
About a year after the tobymac concert, we were listening to Klove I believe and heard the commerical for "Chris Tomlin's Worship Night in America tour" coming to downtown hartford. We said that it's a "must" that we go to this concert. We began searching for tickets on the web the next day and purchased them shortly after that. I truly enjoyed every minute of that night. I loved hearing the songs that I listen to so much live! It was a night that I'll never forget.

This year I... had a camp out at my job. I never thought I'd have a day at work like i did that day. The day was going normal for the first hour or two. Then, the lights began to flicker and I saw the wind pick up outside. After awhile, the whole place just went dark. People were saying "oh no!" My sister might've even screamed haha. One of the managers told the customers to put their purchases in bags to hold. It was so many holds! Soon, all of the customers were gone but yet the associates were told to stay. For the first hour of the blackout, all of the associates had flashlights and were trying to recover whatever they could see. Once the natural daylight went away, we gave up hope on trying to work and just began to gather around the registers and chat. There were about 3 groups of people chatting in different areas; there was two new people that had just started their trainining that night. I met this really friendly girl (i won't insert a name but you know who you are hehe) but yeah I introduced myself and asked her how she liked it or what she'll be doing etc... and I feel like there was a great connection there!

I also connected with some of the other associates who have been there for a little while. The chance was never given when I just saw them passing by at work and going to their department but, the blackout gave us a chance to connect and get to know each other on another level. After awhile, our manager had ordered pizza for us! We ate pizza around he registers and some just sat on the floor with lantern lights and such.

Soon, the lights came back on and everyone screamed "Yay!" it was like when your favorite football team wins the super bowl haha. overall, it was a fun night and the best day I ever had at work yet. I'll never forget it.

This year I... got my braces off! It's been such a long journey with these teeth of mine. First, I spent 17 years of having crooked teeth with a big gap in the front. Then, I spent 4 years with the braces on. I had gone through some pain with the braces in the beginning but, I quickly got adjusted to them and just a month or two of having them I began to feel more confident already. The process of the braces began to feel more and more of a breeze and I kept thinking about how beautiful of a smile I'll have. I tried my best not to eat any sticky food or anything that'll be too tough on my teeth. I also enjoyed getting different color bands every month!😁

On November 26, 2018 I finally was getting my braces off! It was one of the best days of my life. It was another thing that I could cross off my bucket list. I looked in the mirror and I was no longer that buck-toothed girl. I had a beautfiful smile and even the workers were amazed. Since then, I feel like I dress up more and take more pictures. I'm so grateful to the amazing crew at my orthodontist for helping me giving me the smile I always dreamed of.

This is part 1 of my year end review, part 2 is soon to come. I have truly enjoyed sharing part 1 of the most highlighted things of my year. Please please share in the comments what were some of the highlights of 2018 for you. I'd love to hear about it!

That's all I have for you lovely people now but stay tuned, there's more fun to come...
