What is Your New Year's Resolution?

It's already almost a new year. It's unbelievable!πŸ™† but whenever the new year comes, people come up with some kind of goal to make themselves a better person. So, what will your New Year's Resolution be? I'll start with telling you what mine is.

I would like to give God more of my time. Oftentimes I try to set goals to pray and read the Bible in the morning time but usually get distracted and I don't end up doing it until late in the evening. But this year I really want to make my time with God my number one priority.

I also would like to be more positive and have more faith in God. 2017 has been a challenging time for me with my faith but I'm praying that I'll have stronger faith in God by seeing the outcomes of my circumstances where God has came through.

This year I would like to shine my light even more brightly than what I do now.

This year I want to be more committed to writing and pursuing my goals and dreams in general.

This year I want my friendships to grow stronger and flourish like they never have before. I would like to try to resolve issues that hasn't been resolved yet. I would like to be more understanding and caring and helpful.

I pray that God will make me a stronger person overall. I know that I've had some icy spots on this walk of life, but I pray that God will pour his salt on these sidewalks that I walk so that I won't slip and fall. He will outstretch his hand toward me to give me a lift.

I'm excited about the great things God will do in my life this year. I would say I've accomplished a lot this year and have learned many things. I know that new beginnings are here and that God will use me in miraculous ways. I've experienced many new things this year, I've had my ups and downs but I'm here and ready to go forth and take on whatever comes next. I know that I've come a long way and I know that I was created on this earth for a great purpose.

My next post will be about my plans for 2018. To start the new year week I am going on a fast, but this fast includes me taking a break from secular movies, music, books, etc... And just listen to christian music and do all Christian related things for a while week. I promise to write about how God's spirit will move through me this week of the new year. I pray that I'll have many great things to tell at the end of my spam fast.

What an exciting time of year it is! Oh! I also plan to listen to different year end music countdowns. Please give me your feedback about the post or any of my other posts. Seeing your feedback gives me motivation to keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks everyone who's supported my blog thus far. You are amazing! I can't wait to see more growth in my blog in 2018. Stay tuned for more posts about the new year. Until then, have a safe and happy new year!πŸŽ‰πŸŽ†☺😊

How I Celebrated Christmas❄πŸŽ„

Hello friends!

Christmas has come and gone but hopefully everyone's holiday was merry and filled with cheer!πŸ˜ƒ I certainly had a great holiday, and I'm going to tell just a little bit about what I did.

Firstly, I woke up and prayed and said "Happy Birthday" to my lord and savior Jesus Christ. Then I ate breakfast, listened to Christmas music, watch Christmas movies and TV programs, played a sorta boring game of Sorry and then me and my siblings took a Christmas walk and played in the snow a bit.

Finally, we ate a delicious dinner which was mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots, sweet potatoes, baked chicken and dinner rolls. Then, we opened presents! My gifts I got were great! Two headbands, nail polish, lipstick (what more can a girl ask forπŸ’) I also got a cute burgundy clutch and a backpack and... One republic T shirt!!!! Yes, yes and yes!

We then watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (classic).

All that was it folks. It was a truly lovely day. Please tell me about your holiday. I'd love to hear about it.

Tug of War with Your Thoughts.

Hello there,

Do you ever have so many thoughts at once that you feel exhausted? Of course everyone thinks from day to day; whether it's a big test coming up, job interview or even simple things like what what to eat for dinner. Thoughts, negative ones for instance, really grabs a hold of you and creates anxiety and overwhelmness. At times I think and worry so much that my stomach aches.

My point is that I really wish that I didn't think so much because all it's doing is making me emotionally tired. There's so many things in my life that I wish was a lot simpler. So many things that seem to be spinning out of control. So many things that I wish I had answers to. I've been in this particular mixed up situation for awhile now and am still trying to find clarity in it all. I think about how things would be if it was exactly how I imagined them to be.

As One Thinks...

Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (NLV). In other words, what we think will be evident in our outward attitudes and actions. This means that our thoughts are nothing to take for granted. Our perspectives and thoughts hold the power to determine our attitudes and also our tomorrows. Fortunately, we get to choose what our tomorrows look like, one thought and one day at a time. In the words of Norman Vincent Peale, a popular minister and author, “Change your thoughts, and you change your world.”

True joy and a positive attitude come from the choice to change your thoughts, not from a problem-free life. So, sweet friend, let today be the first day of your new optimistic life. Let it be the first day of a fresh season of life where you begin living a life of optimism, seeing the glass as half full instead of half empty.

You are not alone in this battle. We can either give up or God-up, and when we God-up, He always shows up. As we sojourn through this book, we’ll be unpacking three God-filled strategies that we need to put into practice in our daily lives if we want to transform our thoughts, feelings, and lifestyles:

1) Notice negative thoughts.

2) Reject negative thoughts.

3) Replace negative thoughts.

Scripture reinforces the importance of these three steps: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5). If you’re like me, you’ve always known this instruction was important but never really understood how to follow through. How do we take our thoughts captive and then change our lives? Well, we’ll be exploring just that as we move forward in this journey toward optimism and joy. Here's a devotional about negative thinking and I believe it has really blessed me. I'd like to share it with you all.

As you read, I pray that God will open the door of your heart and help you begin to let your faith be in control of your mind so you can take back your thoughts. If you are ready to be rescued, God is ready to pull you out of the muck of negativity and discouragement. My hope is that when you get to the last page of this book, you will find yourself on the shores of a breathtaking place you didn’t know existed—a beautiful land where a positive mind and an optimistic heart thrive.

Does anyone remember when I was talking about me seeing lovey dovey couples?  I wanted to recap on that. I see these couples and see how they seem to have life all figured out and they seem to be the happiest they ever could be. I always felt like that would never be me because I could never picture myself with someone. I don't if its because I feel like an outcast or shy or simply just not enough confidence. But, I've almost had that opportunity of probably being lovey dovey maybe and I almost feel really stupid now having those kinds of thoughts or feelings now because I guess it just seemed too much like a game. I don't know if we would have been hand in hand or googly eyed like all the other young couples but for awhile I sure hoped for something to happen. Even now, I can't say that I've let go of the thought completely but its kind of up in the air now and I'm not going to anticipate for any kind of possibility of something but just go with the flow and most importantly leave it in God's hands. Sometimes I regret of the whole possibility of a relationship happening because I wish it happened differently and at the right time. When I see couples I do get jealous and probably even a little annoyed but I'm getting better. Even though I feel like I've made a fool of myself I know I'll recover from this. And maybe, just maybe all hope isn't lost. Maybe at some point in life we can get together and it would be God's perfect timing or maybe things will stay how they are now. What's most important though is that we're leaving it in God's hands and there's no more drama or confusion. I'm thankful we're mature enough to eliminate all of the unnecessary and unhealthy stuff.

The reason why I called it "Tug of War with Your Thoughts" is because I often find myself fighting with my thoughts and continue to make myself try to keep my mind on positive things while fighting off the negative at the same time. So, I just wanted to share with you that our negative thoughts don't have to control us. But I've gone through some difficult things and I'm still fighting my way through them all. I have to trust God no matter what and "keep calm and pray on."

I know God's plan isn't to keep us confused forever. He knows what's best for us.

What Five People Would You Invite To Your Party Famous Or Infamous?

Hello lovely people!

I know my posts have been kind of quiz-like but I like to keep things fun a bit, almost like you're reading a teen magazine.

So, onto the question. Here's my list of people I would invite to my party:

Lacey Sturm

John Cooper of Skillet

Ryan Tedder

Britt Nicole

Meridith Grace (youtuber)

Ok, my list is all famous people, well... That's the people I would really like to come to my party. If you care to do so, please leave your comments and let me know who you would invite to your party. It can be any type of party.

If You Could Spend $1,000 anywhere where would you spend it?

This is a tough question. $1,000 is a lot of money! If I had to choose I would pick a store that has a variety of things like Walmart, target or best buy. I would pick Best Buy.
I
would buy a new phone, (which would equal to around $200)
A
 phone plan ($35-$50)
A
laptop for the price of $600 (that will take a big chunk)
I
would buy headphones for the price of $100
A
nd with the last $100 I would buy a couple of CDs and a iTunes or amazon gift card.

My list isn't all practical but hey, if you got a thousand bucks all in one place you might as well go big. You only live once, right?

Of course at the end of my posts I always ask my readers to leave comments, so if you can kindly leave your comments and let me know where and what you would spend $1,000 on. Please keep in mind that it would have to be one place. Also, please feel free to give me your suggestions on how I can make my blog better and more enjoyable.

Snowy Day Activities!❄

Well, winter is on its way and we all know what that means... Snow! Watching the snow fall outside of my window is the most beautiful thing. But, even though it's beautiful it can be b oring stuck inside all day. So, I came up with a list of a few activities that I have done on a snowy day.

Bake delicious winter treats like cookies, brownies, muffins and all of that good stuff.
Watch movies and eat the delicious treat you've made.
Play board games
Try to write a short novel (hey, you never knmow what could come of it.)
Read a book with a warm fleece blanket wrapped around you.
Listen to cool indie playlists (if you're into that kind of music).
Lastly, make a snowman!⛄

And that is the list of activities to do on a snowy or rainy day! Please let me know what you think of these ideas and if you'll try some of these ideas for yourself. Or,let me know of some of your own ideas you have for activities on a snowy day.

"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"

Hello friends!

Boy oh boy do I love the holidays. Christmastime has sprung up on me so fast! But the feeling of Christmas is like none other. So, I promised that I would tell you guys my holidays plans in my next post and here it is:
Go to Christmas events in my town like caroling and/or winterfest that's happening this Saturday. I already went to one Christmas event in my town and that being the Christmas tree lighting that was this last Sunday. Though it was cold, it was a fun event. Cocoa, caroling and of course tree lighting!
Volunteer for Prince of Peace Christmas production at my church.
Attend Worship & Arts Christmas party (which is also at my church).
Go Christmas shopping at the mall (though I've already done a little at kohls).
Go to the movies
Watch my own Christmas movies from my tablet
Sitting in Starbucks at Christmastime is always fun.
Lastly, attend the Christmas Eve service at my church.

Well, between now and the next few should be pretty fun for me. Please leave your comments and let me know what your holiday plans are this year. Don't be shy now, leave those comments so I could get a good idea of who's reading my blog posts. OK, that's all for now. Much love to ya! XoxoπŸ’•http://prissypatrice.blogspot.com

Cold December Nights

Hello lovely people! I'm so sorry that I've been behind with my blog posts but guess what? I'm back and I'm here to stay. I've been a bit busy but I've invested in a little tablet to help me stay on top of my blogging and regular writing daily and on the go.

I love love this time of year. I recently saw an Instagram post that my church crossroads posted and it was about why you're happy that December is here I believe. So, this is what this post iis about mainly, welcoming in December and christmas and me explaining about what this time of year means to me.

This time of year is the time where it brings family and friends together and even those outside of our family or friends. It's a time of joy and Thanksgiving. This time of year makes me realize how much I'm loved by God and how wonderful he is. I'm so thankful for the most wonderful gift of all and that's Jesus Chrizt.

Christmas also always brings me a warm feeling inside. I love warming up by the fire, sipping on coffee or cocoa and reading a great book. Holiday time makes me think about love, which for most people it would be romantic love but I think about all kinds of love. I always feel left out when it comes to the romantic department. I see those lovey dovey couples around me and wonder why that kind of thing in my life I just can't see happening. Any who...

Happy December to all. I love what this month will bring. In my next post I'll talk about some holiday plans I have and have already done.

Hohoho πŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸ‘ΌπŸ™πŸ˜ƒ☺

The Meaning Behind my Blog Name

Hey blog readers! My Thanksgiving was good (despite having to bring my dinner to work) but I was with the fam and watched the parade and I even colored my cutout turkey and pinned it on the door (well... Kayla did all the coloring and I put it on the door). Anyway... it wasn't complete craziness at my job but I was beat after working for so long. I got off of work at 1am (past my bedtime hehe).

Well, I wanted to explain to you guys the reason why I named my blog 'Write 4 Life" it's pretty self explanatory actually. I write whenever i'm sad, mad, happy and everything in between. Writing is like my therapy (as well as music) writing helps me to express my feelings when I can't express them well with my audible voice. Writing gives me joy. I write about almost anything; my struggles, my accomplishments, big events I've attended, news stories, devotionals and many other things.

What can I say? Writing is a big part of my life and I wanted to think of my blog as a public journal. This blog will give people an inside look of my life.

Writing is my passion and that's why I hope to continue to have a burning passion for writing for as long as I live. And I hope my writing can change many lives one day. That's why I write for lifeπŸ“’✏😊

Originating Change Within Me

Recently, I made a list of ways that I have changed within the last ten years. I compared the things I wrote about and thought about in my ...
