My Thoughts for Today

Hey people,
Just letting you in a certain thing I was thinking about today. Upon my search for a Christian fictional book for young adults, the results were very scarce under that category. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to find something youthful and inspiring to read but yet if I want to find the latest teen romance book I'd find many copies of it available.

I felt that because of the way our world is today that they gear us young people toward more of what's in and cool instead of something that could really be life changing. I feel like God is speaking to me about this area particularly to help make a change for our young people of today. I want to let young people know that there still is hope for the entertainment world of today. If you research some of today's latest books, movies, music, etc... you'll see the same kinds of topics that all of those things fall under, love, sex, partying, drinking, and more things that fall under that same category.

I watched one young adult film where all they did was curse and a bunch of teenage couples making out on couches. I was so disgusted I just shut it off. I know that pop culture really is filling our minds with filth at times, between the music played on the radio and the movies and magazines there's almost no way possible that we can find any kind of wholesome entertainment. I know that entertainment is more than just something fun but I know that positive entertainment would be even more fun because it's something everyone can enjoy.

I am happy to hear that there's more faith based movies starting to come out. I'm praying that God may show me and open up an opportunity for me to take a stand and make a greater change for our young people. Whether it's through music, writing, influential speaking or maybe God can work through me on this blog site or social media site.

Whatever it may be, I know God is going to use me in that area specifically to make a change for the better, even if it's in a small way. God, take the lead.

My First Onerepublic Concert

I can't believe I finally saw my favorite band live in concert! I've literally have been waiting for this moment for about 3 years. I missed them when they came to CT the first time which was at Foxwoods Theatre in Mashantucket, CT and then I got tickets for their Allstar Christmas concert on my birthday but guess what? I did't make that either because it was an issue with our car or whatever the issue was. I was a disappointed little girl ๐Ÿ˜”. But then finally my lovely momma got me some tickets for their Honda Civic Tour as soon as they came out! I hugged her so tight.

Months later, the moment finally came! August 2nd was finally here!!! That day I put my cute little outfit on with my brand new boots that was killing my feet that night๐Ÿ˜ฌ. I played all their songs in the car and I even had my mom singing some 1R  tunes. Only downfall to that day was the heavy downpours and keeping my hair staying nice. Thankfully the rain stopped and my hair still stayed nice and straight. Oh! I had Moe's for dinner that day.

we arrived at the concert around 8:35pm. We missed James Arthur (bummer๐Ÿ˜•) but we made it in time for Fitz & The Tantrums! They were awesome by the way, I loved their energy. later, after Fitz were finished with their set we waited for about 45 minutes and then once the stage was all set the lights went out and the fans screams roared - including my own haha. I was so excited the minute the first song came on, my heart was beating and it just felt like the best thing the thing ever! Alright, i've done enough talking. I'll let you guys see it for yourself. Please enjoy!

By the way, on our way inside the venue we got some free Honda Civic tour booklets! I went to sleep around 2:00am that night. I was so tired haha.

Devotional called "Hard Questions"

Hey everyone,
I was reading a devotional just a few minutes ago called "Hard Questions" and it pretty much pinpointed every hard question that I ask God everyday. I actually got a little teary on Day 14 because it talked about worrying, which is something I feel I do a lot. Right before I read that devotional I was praying to God that I really stop worrying so much. I really felt a lift after I prayed that prayer. All the things that the devotional was talking about today was just about everything that I'm worrying about. Here's the devotional I read today:

Four Steps to Stop Worry
It takes more than willpower to stop worrying. You already know that, because you’ve already tried it. You’ve thought, “I shouldn’t worry about this,” and yet you just keep on worrying about it.
It’s going to take more than your willpower to stop worrying. It takes four things:
1. Get to know God. Jesus says in Matthew 6:32, “People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things” (MSG). If you don’t have a relationship with God, you have every reason to worry. You’ve got to get to know God! As a believer, you have a heavenly Father who has promised to take care of you. You are God’s child, and children get special privileges. When you worry, God says, “You’re my child. Why are you acting like an orphan?”
2. Put God first in every area of your life. Matthew 6:31-33 says, “Don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing …. Your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to” (TLB). Any time you take God out of the center of your life and put anything else there — no matter how good it is — you’re going to worry.
3. Live one day at a time. The Bible says, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34 NCV). If you’re worrying about tomorrow, you can’t enjoy today. You miss today’s blessings. It’s OK to plan for tomorrow, but you have to live for today. Also, when you’re always worried about tomorrow, the future gets overwhelming. But God will give you the grace and strength you need when you get there. Right now, you only need enough power for today.
4. Trust God to care. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT, second edition). How do you do that? One way is to memorize God’s promises in the Bible. They’re like an insurance policy for believers. When you know something’s covered, you don’t worry about it anymore. Another way is to pray. If you prayed as much as you worried, you’d have a lot less to worry about.
What’s the result of taking these four steps? Incredible peace of mind: “You will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand” (Philippians 4:7a TLB).
Pray this prayer today: “Dear Father, I admit that I often forget that you are with me. I often forget what you’re like. Would you please forgive me for that? I need to get to know you better. I need to get to know your Word and your promises better. Help me to put you first in every area of my life. Help me to live one day at a time. Help me to not worry about tomorrow but instead focus on what you’re doing in my life right now. I want to trust in your promise to take care of every one of my needs — financial, relational, physical, social, spiritual, and emotional. Help me to trust you more and worry less. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

I pray that if there's something anyone else is worrying about today that this devotional may encourage you. I also encourage to get the Youversion app and start reading some plans that may really impact your life. I know it has helped my faith grow and it continues to inspire me and encourage me daily. Youversion has really been a blessing to me more than I would ever imagine.

A Day in a Life

Hello all, I'd like to let you in on how my day was today. Today was normal. I did my normal routines such as showering, eating, praying and reading devotionals. I'd say it was a pretty productive day for the most part. Also, I took a walk across the bridge while looking at the beautiful view. It so amazing capturing the beautiful things God has created for our enjoyment. I love fall time (not to mention that my B-day is in the fall hehe). But I just love the feeling of fall, the colors of the leaves, pumpkins, cooler weather which will equal cooler fashion for me! Yay ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘. I'm just really excited about a new season approaching and I'm hoping for great changes along with the new season.
