This year I...(My year end review) Part 1

Well, 2018 went by in a flash! I feel like so much has happened this year.

I can remember some really tough days and some really joyous days. Both the good and the bad has helped shape me into the person I am today.
This year I've learned a lot of lessons (as we all do almost everyday). But the lessons in the year of 2018 have been ones that were part of some big life changing moments. I can’t go into  of ALL the lessons I've learned(the blog post will end up being 100 paragraphs long haha),
but these are the ones that stood out the most (?)

Growing up
I can say that a lot of lessons I’ve learned this year is apart of being more mature regarding certain circumstances. I don't want to lose topic with you guys though, this blog post is about what I've done this year, what I've accomplished, what I've learned and experiences. So, i'd love to talk about what lessons i've learned in specific but I also want to cover all the topics I mentioned above. I've been wanting to try harder and harder to keep my blogs clean, clear and concise. Let's dive into my year review.

This year I... went to my first worship concert. I have always loved worship music ever since I can remember, but in more recent years I have began to love worship music more and more. My brother Marlon has been watching a lot of worship concerts and I always say "wow, that looks awesome! We have to go to one of these." My brother agreed and we continued to hope and pray that a Contemporary Christian artist would come to CT. We heard about Tobymac coming and was interested in going to that but waited too late to act on getting tickets. So, we missed out on that one....
About a year after the tobymac concert, we were listening to Klove I believe and heard the commerical for "Chris Tomlin's Worship Night in America tour" coming to downtown hartford. We said that it's a "must" that we go to this concert. We began searching for tickets on the web the next day and purchased them shortly after that. I truly enjoyed every minute of that night. I loved hearing the songs that I listen to so much live! It was a night that I'll never forget.

This year I... had a camp out at my job. I never thought I'd have a day at work like i did that day. The day was going normal for the first hour or two. Then, the lights began to flicker and I saw the wind pick up outside. After awhile, the whole place just went dark. People were saying "oh no!" My sister might've even screamed haha. One of the managers told the customers to put their purchases in bags to hold. It was so many holds! Soon, all of the customers were gone but yet the associates were told to stay. For the first hour of the blackout, all of the associates had flashlights and were trying to recover whatever they could see. Once the natural daylight went away, we gave up hope on trying to work and just began to gather around the registers and chat. There were about 3 groups of people chatting in different areas; there was two new people that had just started their trainining that night. I met this really friendly girl (i won't insert a name but you know who you are hehe) but yeah I introduced myself and asked her how she liked it or what she'll be doing etc... and I feel like there was a great connection there!

I also connected with some of the other associates who have been there for a little while. The chance was never given when I just saw them passing by at work and going to their department but, the blackout gave us a chance to connect and get to know each other on another level. After awhile, our manager had ordered pizza for us! We ate pizza around he registers and some just sat on the floor with lantern lights and such.

Soon, the lights came back on and everyone screamed "Yay!" it was like when your favorite football team wins the super bowl haha. overall, it was a fun night and the best day I ever had at work yet. I'll never forget it.

This year I... got my braces off! It's been such a long journey with these teeth of mine. First, I spent 17 years of having crooked teeth with a big gap in the front. Then, I spent 4 years with the braces on. I had gone through some pain with the braces in the beginning but, I quickly got adjusted to them and just a month or two of having them I began to feel more confident already. The process of the braces began to feel more and more of a breeze and I kept thinking about how beautiful of a smile I'll have. I tried my best not to eat any sticky food or anything that'll be too tough on my teeth. I also enjoyed getting different color bands every month!😁

On November 26, 2018 I finally was getting my braces off! It was one of the best days of my life. It was another thing that I could cross off my bucket list. I looked in the mirror and I was no longer that buck-toothed girl. I had a beautfiful smile and even the workers were amazed. Since then, I feel like I dress up more and take more pictures. I'm so grateful to the amazing crew at my orthodontist for helping me giving me the smile I always dreamed of.

This is part 1 of my year end review, part 2 is soon to come. I have truly enjoyed sharing part 1 of the most highlighted things of my year. Please please share in the comments what were some of the highlights of 2018 for you. I'd love to hear about it!

That's all I have for you lovely people now but stay tuned, there's more fun to come...

God is the Turkey (and we’re the hors d’ oeuvre)

There’s nothing like a traditional Thanksgiving meal without the turkey. Well, as much as the turkey make the meal, the appetizers and sides add something to it as well. Well, I want to talk to you today about how our Thanksgiving meal can be a lot like our lives. For me, God is the main dish of course and he’s the one who makes me complete. We can be great and satisfied with just the turkey alone perhaps, but the way I look at it is God of course wants us to make him first over everything in our lives, but he also wanted to bless us with other great things as well. Like family and friends. Our family is there for us whenever we need them and without them we wouldn’t make it as well without support and love. So, my point to you today is about completeness. God is our main dish and he doesn’t’ stop there   But he blesses us by giving us other things to add to our lives. Like family and friends and talents and more.

Although at this point in my life, I find friendships to be difficult at times but, as this year is just about coming to a close and the new year is approaching, I want to find ways to build the friendships, and even the acquaintances in my life. Having friendships is such a beautiful gift and I’m not going to allow doubt or insecurities make me feel that I can’t enjoy this gift. Whether I have one friend or 20 friends, I want to make the most of every one and bring joy and love and positivity to each one.

When God created the world we were just one piece of the puzzle, but as time went by and created more humans, more and more pieces came together. I find it so fascinating how much our lives can be impacted by surrounding ourselves with loving and caring people. We take it lightly at times but, to have someone you can call a true friend is something truly remarkable. God wants us to work together and help each other.

I pray that this Thanksgiving and everyday, we may take a moment to pause and reflect on all that we are thankful for and begin to find ways how we can show more and more appreciation to our family, friends, coworkers, etc... everyday. We’d be surprise how much we could brighten someone’s day by giving someone a hug, a high five, a gift or a simple text message. Don’t think that the small things don’t matter because they do. Though the world seems to be so crooked, it doesn’t mean we have to resemble as the world is. We can be the change and introduce something new and different for the world to see. We can overcome hate with love. We can show appreciation to our friends and family and make them feel loved and cared for, We can take that next step of being on better terms with someone that we haven’t been on good terms with. We can heal broken relationships whether it be a spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, brother, sister, there’s hope.

God gave us great food to feast on that would sustain us whereas filling up on fast food may not be as satisfying. That’s because it takes time to prepare a good meal, fast food is just quick and cheap. Sometimes I find myself trying to get full on the wrong food. God has much better food for me but instead I choose fast food. I don’t want to find an easy way out, I hope to be patient and wait on God’s delicious meal that he is preparing for me. Because that meal is made with care.

I love getting a chance to talk with you guys like this. I love getting the opportunity to be able to speak in a real way and each blog I write is one I put lots of effort in. It really does come straight from my heart.

Much love to you all, have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving🧡🏠🍗🍛👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Unlocking Your Mind (freeing your mind from negative and narrow thoughts)

Our minds are a powerful part of our bodies. We use it many times a day. Do you ever find yourself thinking that you know it all and there's nothing that no one can do or say to make you change? Well, I know of some people that are like that and let me tell you, it can be a dangerous thing. We sometimes are so hung on believeing the way we believe and think that we don't even have one doubt in our brain that we could possibly be all wrong. I wanted to talk with you today about how we should try to readjust our thinking and choosing to think the way God would want us to think. I mean, just because no one else can hear our thoughts doesn't mean that God can't. So, when we think we should consider how God would approve of our thoughts if he was sitting right there listening to us.

I know of someone who's always thinking about people trying to plot some kind of scheme on their lives. They believe that they're trying to do something to do them wholeheartedly that they know how they did it, when they did it and why they did it. They go as far as saying who's all involved in this big scheme. This person is so untrusting of people that they almost look at everyone could possibly be plotting something.

As long as you continue to digest these kinds of thoughts you're going to find yourself feeling lonely, scared and paranoid for the rest of your lives. And, what I mean by "narrow" is that your thoughts continue to be one way. You don't try to turn or make a detour just in case that long narrow road that you're on isn't the right way to where you need to go. You continue to keep driving down this road and have no doubts or second thoughts about it. Having a narrow road is liking driving somewhere you aren’t familiar with without a map. When we’re obedient to the Holy Spirit, we shouldn’t feel trapped. We feel safe and secure and set free because we know that wherever the Holy Spirit is leading us is always the right way to go. Sometimes we can be so set in our own way of thinking that we don’t even want to listen to God after awhile. We need to manage our thoughts almost the same way we’d manage our money in a bank. We should avoid our thoughts from going overdrawn, in a mind sense, overdrawing can mean that we kept digging ourselves back in the hold of doubt, fear, jealousy, and judgementalist. Just like how we keep digging money out the bank and have to end up paying for those overdraft fees, the same goes with our thoughts when we keep digging back those thoughts of negativity, doubt, etc... we end up paying for it by making ourselves depressed and afraid and angry. We need to deposit only the good thoughts in our mind and continue to withdraw all of the bad thoughts that could be poison to our lives.

I find myself thinking negatively from day to day. I think things like “how will I ever get there...” and “I don’t think I’m capable of doing this...” or “I don’t have enough money to do this. Ibegin to question my self-worth, my faith, and my abilities. It’s natural to think negatively sometimes but it doesn’t really do us any good in the long run. God says this in his word “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.””
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/jhn.16.33.niv

Though we may feel forgotten, scared, unsure, etc... God will never Let us down and his promises will never fail. Let’s take a look at what this devotional has to say about renewing our mind:

Why Renew Your Mind?
Back in 1992, I said the prayer of salvation. However, my life did not change for nine years. I did not know that salvation was just the beginning of the Christian experience. Renewing your mind is the key to experiencing new life in Christ.
God desires that you have a wonderful, daily relationship with Him. He wants you to grow in faith. He wants you to understand His love for you, as well as His thoughts and ways.
Renewing your mind through the Bible is God's way to transformation. When you read, meditate upon, and apply God's word in your daily life, you are changed from the inside out.
You will begin to reflect God's character and others can taste and see that the Lord is good through you!

Wow! So wonderfully said. I couldn’t agree more. When we begin to renew our minds we will have a much more fulfilling relationship with God and others. Though it’s not easy getting over past hurts and struggles, we can take small steps towards a better and renewed mind that will give us the peace and delightment that we have been searching for. We can be rest assured in God’s lavishing love, sufficient grace, and everlasting peace. He’s our friend, he cares for us and is our help in all times of need.

I wanted to share this with you today because it has been something that I have been struggling with. It's such a great feeling to be able to express my thoughts through this blog and it’s such a blessing t be able to possibly be able to encourage someone though what I write.

That’s all for now, but I am thankful that I was able to come back to my blogging by pouring out my heart and sharing something that’s hopefully encouraging to you all. Also, happy November! I have some exciting things coming up this month. My birthday parties haha, thanksgiving and Black Friday!!! Stay tuned folks and thanks for sticking with me on my blogging journey.

The Story That's Waiting on an Ending

In book series, the first few books doesn't really have an ending quite yet. It's not until the last book of the series is when the ending is revealed and all of are questions are answered... sometimes haha.

Anyway, sometimes situations in our lives are like book series. We have been going through many tunnels and have simply run out of all solutions. Some of us may feel like we're in that point of life where our story will never have an ending. Sometimes it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a happy ending but some of us just want an ending to just have this issue off of our backs. There's one thing that's cool about our story though, it's that God already has our story written out from beginning to end. He knows what the finale will be, whether it's in the upcoming weeks or years. But we must trust him and surrender our will to his because all of his promises are "yes" and "amen"

I'm in a series in my life right now. I feel like in my life I've had many book series about different things. From 2010 I believe each year brought a new challenge. I didn't see the ending to something that happened in my life that started from 2011 - 2012 I believe. It was an ongoing process and it was like reading each chapter that had the same information in it. I didn't see a new chapter containing new possibilities or new meaning. It frustrated me to the core. My life felt empty everyday. But, God had an ending to that story and he will have an ending to this story that I'm in right now.

Some of you guys hear me talk about this often. But the story that I'm in right now is a story that's been going on for about two years now. I won't go into too many details but, I do want to tell you that it was on my mind a lot today and sometimes I just get tired of waiting for an ending to this story. It's like when the reader is just itching to know what is really going to end up happening. So, in my story there's a pair of friends who are a guy and a girl. They are both sort of shy people but relate to each other very well. These friends didn't talk to each other very much in the beginning of their friendship but, like a plant that has water and sunshine, it grew. Soon, these friends became best friends and best friends who soon had romantic interest in one another. At the first stages of these romantic interests they had, they were very excited about taking this new step in their lives, which is dating. But, the process wasn't so easy and due to family concerns and other interruptions regarding this relationship, it didn't happen at that moment. So, there's been back and forth problems amongst these friends but even with the problems the friends seem to be unbreakable. With two people who are strong in their faith, they kept going and trusted God's plans he has for them. So, they remained great friends for another two years and have shared many memories together. Now, the relationship that was supposed to happen is still up in the air. And, from time to time these friends still find themselves being unintentionally flirty with one another but realize that circumstances are still the same so they'll still get the same result but trying for a relationship as they did two years ago.

So, the female friend still has these feelings for her guy friend but still is looking for a way to take these steps to making something actually possible with them. She knows that she has a part in why things didn't happen for them but is continuously finding ways to fix this problem. She's determined, with God's help to find an ending to this story. Whatever that ending may be.  The thing that makes her really nervous is that her feelings have gotten stronger. She can't deny his good looks and charm and is sometimes hard to treat each other as "just friends" but by trying to go down that route again she knows it's probably not wise to make this decision at the moment. So, it's frustrating but, just like any other story in my life, God has an ending to this one too. And I believe I play an important role in it.

Maybe you have something you're going through that's just tremendously frustrated. Well, just imagine yourself immersed in God's great storybook, which is a story that's better than ours or ones try to write. When we try to change the story that God has already written, the story will never make sense. God has our story already published and in the bookstore, but we just have to keep reading all the way until the end even though the story will never seem to be finished and make sense.

I want to leave you guys with these scriptures about God's plan.

Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Psalm 33:11 (NIV)

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm youplans to give you hope and a future.

Don't close the book, keep reading until you see God's amazing ending.

Indie/Indie-Folk Compilation - Autumn/Fall 2018 (1½-Hour Playlist)

Since I'm talking about fall I decided to share this cool playlist with you guys!

How To Spend a Perfect Fall Day

Well, Fall is officially here! And I can feel it in the air. I've already had to pull out my sweaters and boots. I have also accomplished one of my fall goals already! I visited the Storyteller's Cottage in Simsbury; which is a place that offers many writing classes and events. I've ben wanting to visit that place for the past couple of months now and now I have my first class already set up. This time of year is truly beautiful and really warms my heart, (especially when I have a good cup of cocoa😋)

I wanted to write about what would make a perfect Fall day. Here's some of the options I came up with:

1. Talk a walk and nature watch (if that makes sense but y'all get what I'm saying)

2. Listen to some cool indie/folk music (if you're into that kind of music.)
3. Visit a unique coffeeshop (either by yourself or with someone but to me it makes the experience way more cooler with someone there)
4. Go Hiking (this just seems like a cool thing to do during the fall time while also seeing some cool sights!)
5. Go listen to some acoustic bands or artist at a cafe
6. Read a book in the park
7. Go Apple Picking
8. Visit a pumpkin maze and carve pumpkins!

Well, if these events don't scream fall I don't know what does! Let me know if any of these ideas seem appealing to you as far as how you would spend a fall day. I for one am going to try to do all of these things.

Also, I will be posting blogs at the beginning of the month and towards the end of the month. So like two blogs a month. I feel I'm able to keep up better this way and provide much better posts. Feel free to give me some feedback.

Until then, happy fall!😊

Fall PlansGoals

Well. September is here! I already smell the pumpkin goodness in the air. I truly love everything about the fall. From the beauty of the leaves to the delightful pumpkin muffins at dunkin haha. Summer was decent for me but, I believe that fall has so much more to bring. With that being said, I am going to tell you about some of my upcoming fall plans and goals. Here it is!

1. Niall Horan Concert - I have been waiting for this concert since last September haha, now it's only less than a week away! I plan on doing a lot of livestreaming on my social media sites so, be on the lookout.

2. Big Choir Weekend - Singing in the choir period is always a joy to me, but singing with a big number of people of all ages is even more fun! Besides, isn't that what the body of Christ should look like anyway? I look forward to an incredible weekend.

3. The Big E - Ok, this isn't like a certain plan but I have been planning on going and have been wanting to go for some time now. I am on a budget haha, but going to the Big E would be the cream cheese frosting on the pumkin cupckae😋

4. Writing Classes - I'm super excited about furthering my writing career and I feel like taking these writing classes are great next steps. For some reason, I think writing feels even cooler or more special in the fall time while sitting in a cozy coffeeshop. But then again, writing is always special for me. I'm glad that this opportunity has opened up for me once again.

5. Visit a New Coffeeshop - This goal is just a must for a coffee lover like me! For those of you that live in the CT area, I'm open to suggestions about any coffeeshops you may know of, (besides Dunkin and Starbucks haha)

6. Find Some New Good Reads - Finding great books are such a challenge for me, but I am determined to find at one really good book or a really good series. Once again, I'm open to any suggestions folks. Let a girl know😊

7. Be Consistent with my Bible Plans - Reading Bible plans on my Bible app is truly a great way for me to start my day. What I love about it is that it offers so many plans covering so many different topics. It's sincerely one of the best things ever created. Thank you Youversion!

8. Spend Time with Friends - Yes, this was a summer goal of mine but unfortunately, I guess summer just wasn't the season for hanging out with friends. Even though it may be a bit more difficult with my friends having school and work now, I believe a way will be made for us to spend more time together on a regular basis. God knows how important this is to me and how much fun and excitement it brings to my life. I believe having a healthy social life helps keep you healthier as a person. I really do pray that I can achieve this goal this fall season and the next seasons also!

I have so much to look forward to this fall season. I'm praying that I'll be a stronger christian, fearless, determined and an inspiration to many people that I may meet. Whether it's in the fall season or the next season, I'm praying God will use me mightily and miraculously. I know that having goals is great, but I believe it's about time to achieve it.

Tell me what you guys are doing this fall season. Are you just in the first week of a new school? Did you get a anew job? Is this your first job? Whatever it is, I'm really excited about hearing it. Iknow some of you guys may not be much in leaving comments or responding to my posts, but if you are sort of into writing like me, I'd really appreciate hearing your response about any of my posts.

That's all that I have for now. I decided to give you guys a back to back post! One about summer ending and fall beginning. I felt it was appropriate. I absolutely love writing blogs!

Kick the leaves, sip pumkin lattes, stay warm and cozy in a sweater and scarf!💛

My Summer Review

Well, Summer has seemed to gone by in a flash. I must say, I didn’t really do a whole lot this summer. A lot of plans got canceled because of weather and such.

The highlight of my summer might’ve been the Collinsville Hot festival. It’s an annual festival that my town has. I watched African dancers and the rest of the event was surrounded with many arts& crafts for kids and ice cream treats!😋🍦

Me and my sister stayed for about an hour and then walked home.

Another good moment from this summer has been connecting with more people I suppose. From church to work, I feel like I’ve connected with quite a bit of people. I’ve had my moments where I didn’t feel confident enough to make friends but, I’ve proven myself wrong lately and God gave me the courage to step out of my comfort zone.

I’ve also watched some pretty good movies. I went to see Incredibles 2 and Hotel Transylvania 3, (I know, I’m a big kid).

I suppose I have more fall plans than I did with summer. I was suppose to go to Hike to the Mike which is a music festival with local artists performing. This is another annual event happening in Simsbury every August but, it got canceled because of the rain. To end out the summer, I attended the worship & arts BBQ. The food was bomb and the games were enjoyable.

For the most part, I was pretty satisfied with my summer but I’m looking forward to what fall will bring. I have a few things lined up for September that I’m going to share with you guys soon.

Let me know how your summer was. Remember to subscribe, comment and share! Spread the word about Kammy’s blog😊

Songs That Remind Me Of...

I don’t know about you, but I’m always visualizing things while listening to certain songs. I thought it be a cool thing share with you guys about what it is that I visualize while listening to certain songs.

Callum Pitt “Least He’s Happy” - This song has a really nice relaxing sound to it. It starts off with a nice acoustic guitar and then the verses are sang softly by Callum Pitt as he’s telling a story through the song. The song reminds me of just walking through a park on a warm sunny day. It reminds of like swinging on swings and just generally being really happy haha😊
The song also just reminds me of like memories throughout my life. Like my most happiest moments.

Aly & AJ “In a Second” - This song reminds me of a certain someone... it kind of reminds me of how I feel about him. I like to tell you guys about him just because I guess I feel like it’s a story that’s waiting for an ending. But it reminds me of him, especially the part where it says “don’t know how you feel. You seem to keep it to yourself.” It’s a sweet song in general. I really love old school Aly & Aj songs. I think this song used to remind me of a crush when I was about 11 or 12 haha. So, I suppose as I got older the song had even more meaning.

Hillsong United “So Will I (100 Billion x)” -  I simply love every word that is sang in this song. It just does something to my spirits and my heart. This song just reminds me of responding to God but saying “if you have done this, then so will I” it’s like giving back to God. I am absolutely in love with the bridge, each time I listen to it, my heart rumbles. It gives me such confidence that our God is so faithful to his word and he just wants to have a relationship with us if we’re willing to sacrifice in some ways. This song is just a beautiful reminder of how privileged we are to have a God that would give us so much that we don’t even deserve. At least, that’s my meaning of it.

Evanescence “My Immortal” - This song reminds me of myself singing in a long, beautiful gown with my brother playing the piano for me. Even though it’s not necessarily a happy song, I can’t help but smile when I listen to it because I dream about myself singing this.

Young Guns “I Want Out” - This song reminds me of being at a really energetic concert haha. I just imagine like jumping around with a circle of people until we are tired and pass out (not because we’re drunk but because of the high energy)

This was a fun topic friends. I’m sure you guys have some songs you listen to that reminds you of something. I’m sure I have more I can add to this list! But I’ll leave it right there for now and if I think of more to add, I will edit this post and put it in there. Make sure you’re checking my blog for new updates.

New Things that I've Done/ Want to Do

As we are approaching a new season and with just about 3 1/2 months left of 2018, I was thinking about the new things I've done and have accomplished. I love trying new things; it's such an exciting journey and experience. I will list just a few new things I've done and the new things that I want to do.

New Things I've Done:

Joining the Video Team at My Church - I have learned so much about media production by being on the video team. It has been both a joy and a blessing being apart of this team. I never realized how you can feel and actually see the power of God through worship videos. As I watch videos on Youtube like, Bethel, Hillsong and Elevation it has truly left me in awe by seeing some of the awesome shots they capture. I watch people's hands lifted high and tears falling on people's faces, it really changed my life. I suppose at first I just did it for the heck of it and because my brother needed extra help when he was directing at the time. But as years gone by, I was really glad I tried it. Actually, I believe my pastor preached about this a couple of weeks about about "trying new things"and it put a little motivation in me to write this post. But I am always afraid of trying new things, it takes a of pushing for me at times. But if it's something I feel fits me or if it's just something that seems really fun, I usually end up never regretting it.

Blogging - Many of you have heard the story of me becoming a blogger, but I don't think I've mentioned how I wasn't so fond of the idea at first. However, after a little bit more of convincing from my friend and how he mentioned how much it would benefit me as a writer, I had decided to just go ahead and do it. I must say, that even though I've had my discouraging moments with blogging, I have not yet regretted becoming a blogger. It has been a wonderful experience for me as a writer. It's also really fun!

Making Friends - Believe it or not, making friends is something that is brand new for me. I remember in my teen years it was tremendously hard for me to make friends. I don't know if it was because I was shy or because I didn't go as many places as I do now. But when I got in my 20's, I began to slowly break out of my shell. I feel like these past two years of my life have been a great learning experience for me. I feel like I've grown in a lot of ways. While I still struggle at times, I still never thought that I'd be having events with groups of people, having long phone conversations with people and even initiating meetups! So, I am very grateful for the way God has help me to develop in my social life. I'm thankful that God put the right friends in my life at the right time. I'm thinking for the ways that I'll grow even more both as a person and with friends.

Joining Social Media - I am one that was a latecomer to social media. From the time it first time I discovered social media to about 21 I was never interested in joining any social media sites. But, once I created a blog I realized that having social media platforms on my blog would be a big plus for me. So, after some debating I finally decided that I wanted to create an instagram and twitter account. I've also found that it's a pretty cool way to make friends that share the same interest as you! So, social media has been prety beneficial to me for the most part. I have started a little vlogging series titled "Capturing Life" (which I have to start doing again sometime soon.) I have connected with a lot of people that I never know how I would connect with otherwise, I have been able to see unique things about other people's lives and enter contests and many other things! Most people kind of have negative views or opinions on social media, but for me I've found it to be pretty helpful in some ways.

Ride a Rollercoaster 🎢- Riding a rollersocoaster was fun but let me tell you, I literally thought I was going to pass out when I got off haha! But it’s something I really never thought I’d do and I held on so tightly to the bar handles that my hands were red. But it was really fun!’

New Things that I Want to Do:

Go to a Pottery Class - I have always been interested in arts so, why not try out pottery where I can make pretty bowls! The classes I looked up were so darn expensive but, if I just ever so happen to have some extra money just to spend then I will definitely give it a try.

Paint a Picture - Just another thing to add to my Arts & Craft list.

Go to CYA - I really need something to do with my free Fridays, I feel like this may be a pretty neat thing to go to to learn more about God and grow and possibly form friendships with some people my age. My friends have been encouraging me to go and I just might end up doing it if the opportunity presents itself. My friends know that not having a car of my own is a bit difficult to get here and there on your own, but it is in progress. You will see people that Kamera Patrice will get there!😉

Attend a Service at Hillsong Church - After watching many worship concerts and services with my siblings, me and my siblings were definitely convinced that this something we HAVE to do. We have been so blessed by Hillsong's ministry. I believe God will make a way for us to get there at one of the campuses.

Try a New Coffee shop - This will be an exciting adventure since I've only been to two of the same coffee places in my life (Dunkin and Starbucks) I think this fall I'm going to try a brand new coffee spot. Who knows, it may become a regular place for me and replace Dunkin and Starbucks.

Take a Roadtrip with Friends - I always wanted to go to a concert in another state or just go to another state to go sightseeing, but now that I've made a few friends, I want to make that effort to experience doing some new things with them! We may not know entirely where will go, but that's the whole adventure part about it haha!😁

Rollerskate - I always imagined roller skating in a big room somewhere with bright multicolored lights and fun music!😁 this one is a “must do.”

I believe that completes my list for now. If I think of some more things to add to the list I will update this post. Please continue to check my blog to see all of the lastest updates. Also, let me know what new things you have done or want to do. I'd love to hear about it! Don't forget to subscribe, share and comment!

Love you folks, kammy😊💖💕

Christmas in July: Living in the Now

if you walk in any store now, you'll see Fall and Halloween stuff out now. Yes, it is quickly approaching, but what about when stores are putting out Christmas stuff in September? It just seems like we keep fast forwarding to the next thing and hardly ever just enjoy what's going on right now, like the last bit of summer that we have left. My point is, we could be worrying ourselves so much about the future and miss out on all the great stuff there is to enjoy now. One day I was waiting on a customer and she was stressing herself out thinking about all the things she has to buy in the coming months. She was back to school shopping and then she said "then I have to think about what to get for the October and November and then a wedding shower and then christmas" I was saying to myself "Gee, take it easy lady. You only live one day at a time" but really at times we're living two months at a time.

When we begin to enjoy the things that are right in front of us, life can be a lot more at ease i believe. We begin to be appreciate one thing at a time. What would it be like if we began to live that way? I mean, it's always good to prepare early for things but we can't stress ourselves out about it. Besides, we can't really say we'll have another Christmas, so we might as well enjoy the rest of the summer festivities while we can.

Waiting can be difficult and that's probably why we choose to bring seasons and/or holidays come sooner by buying decorations and such. But no matter how much stores rush Christmastime and make it so commercialized, there's nothing that can take away the pure joy I get around christmastime. it's a pleasant feeling because i'm ready to receive Christmas, not when the stores are ready. But around the end of November, I'm ready to receive the Christmas joy and celebrations.

I know a lot of you are probably getting back to school and everything, but I suppose my lifestyle is a bit different. I kind get ready for school in my own time haha, I can setup my own time when i like to take my classes and probably take a break when i'm ready. But let me tell you, I'm really excited for those people getting back into their flow of education but since i'm able, I don't have to really keep up with the hustle and bustle of life, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy what's in front of me. That being: church, work, friends and the classes that I have here and there. I sometimes wish I had it like others, going to college right after graduating high school, but I suppose God's timing wasn't there and he had other plans. He knows my situation and knows what's best for me. I know, I'm totally getting off track now, but that's what i love about blogging, it allows you to take off and wander to a few places you never thought you go. At least, that's the way I look at it. i hope you guys are able to keep up with me on this ride also; on this ride of spaghetti brain haha.

But, let's enjoy what's here and let next month take care of itself. Matthew 6:34 says "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

I have posted a feedback post on my instagram, for those of you who aren't on instagram, feel free to share your thoughts right here on my blog. Honestly, your help is so appreciated. I've use a lot of ideas from people's suggestions. I look forward to journeying this thing called life with you guys again soon!

PS. shoutout to my sister Kayla who came up with the title of this blog. Luv ya sissy!

Peace out everyone!✌

Originating Change Within Me

Recently, I made a list of ways that I have changed within the last ten years. I compared the things I wrote about and thought about in my ...
